David Bowie Mural in Brixton

I came across this wonderful mural of born-and-bred Brixtonite David Bowie in Brixton earlier today, when I was on my way home from work. According to the Brixton Blog it was only being painted earlier today and it was already attracting lots of attention from curious passers-by when I was there.

This great addition to Brixton’s rich collection of murals is based on Bowie’s 1973 ‘Aladdin Sane’ album cover ย and is situated along the side of Morley’s department store on Tustall Road. I am not sure who the artist is though, or whether it was commissioned by Morley’s or not (they do make reference to him in store) but I think it is a great, colourful piece of art to brighten up the streets of Brixton.

If you’re in the area check it out.
