David Bowie Mural in Brixton

I came across this wonderful mural of born-and-bred Brixtonite David Bowie in Brixton earlier today, when I was on my way home from work. According to the Brixton Blog it was only being painted earlier today and it was already attracting lots of attention from curious passers-by when I was there.

This great addition to Brixton’s rich collection of murals is based on Bowie’s 1973 ‘Aladdin Sane’ album cover  and is situated along the side of Morley’s department store on Tustall Road. I am not sure who the artist is though, or whether it was commissioned by Morley’s or not (they do make reference to him in store) but I think it is a great, colourful piece of art to brighten up the streets of Brixton.

If you’re in the area check it out.
