I have decided to make ‘My Fashion Scrapbook’ a regular feature as they really help me to capture in image form the things that I have been loving from week to week.
This week my mind has firmly been on florals, triggered by Frank Ocean’s appearance at the Brit Awards in the amazing floral t-shirt and leather jacket combo (centre picture), that I wrote about here last week. The floral t-shirt is from Supreme and was already sold out when I tried to get it in the London store only one day after the launch of the new collection. I am waiting patiently now for the new collection to come online so I can try to snap this up.
With florals on my brain I started searching for some standout flowery fashions from the mens scene this Spring / Summer and I came across some bright, brave and bold prints that take the floral theme in an interesting direction. Here is my pick of the three items I liked the best.
1.Floral Print Cotton Sweater by MSGM
First up is this ‘bright’ floral sweater from MSGM – I love the playful colourfulness of this piece with the almost fluorescent flowers creating a visual feast for the eyes and set against the bright white backdrop. I think it looks nice against the orange/coral coloured shorts in the picture (top left). Available from Antonoili.eu
2. Floral Print Satin Jacket by Balenciaga
I just love the print on this multi coloured jacket from Balenciaga. Okay so it is seriously expensive but at least you’d probably never see anyone else wearing it. Imagine turning up somewhere with someone else sporting the same jacket?! I particularly love the big blue flowers against the black backdrop and the unexpected black back panel. I think this would look lovely just styled with a black t-shirt, black skinny jeans and some chunky black boots. Available from Matches
3. Floral Stripe Parka by Topman Design
Okay so I know that this is likely to be a marmite choice and I am definitely putting this firmly in the ‘Brave’ category but there is something I love about this admittedly very vivid floral stripe parka by Topman Design. You certainly need to be brave to wear it but as they saying goes ‘fortune favours the brave’
. I would definitely keep the rest of the outfit simple – a blank canvas on which to rest this abstract art piece. Topman
So what do you think of my floral picks? Do you agree that they are bold, bright and brave? Would you wear them? Let me know…
